Mary U. Musacchia
Of Counsel to the firm, Mary Musacchia brings a wealth of experience and passion to technology companies and new ventures to help them meet existing challenges and plan for future growth.
As general counsel and then director of the global government affairs department to SAS Institute, Inc., Mary managed legal services as SAS grew from less than $100 Million in revenue to $1 Billion in revenue. Her 30+ year career also includes senior management positions in Affiliated Computer Systems, Inc. (ACS) and General Telephone (now Verizon), with experience in international transactions, acquisitions, outsourcing, IP, gaming, and employment matters.
Mary is past Chair of the Board of Directors for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), a gubernatorial appointee to the North Carolina eLearning Commission, and former Trustee for the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science. She also served on the Board of Directors for The Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) Software Division and on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA).
Mary has spoken domestically and internationally on technology industry policy issues, economic development and the legal profession.
A member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Missouri and Iowa State Bars (inactive), Mary is an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association and former member of its Board of Governors.
Mary currently serves as Entrepreneur in Residence at the First Flight Venture Center, North Carolina’s first incubator, where she focuses on providing practical business advice to entrepreneurs.
