Amalie Tuffin joined the firm in 2011 at which time it became Whitmeyer Tuffin PLLC. Amalie previously spent four years at Hutchison Law Group; prior to that she practiced at the RTP technology law firm of Daniels Daniels & Verdonik and the Boston firm of Peabody & Arnold.
Amalie is a member of the American Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association, and previously served as an adjunct instructor in the paralegal program at Durham Technical Community College. Amalie writes regularly on tax and other legal issues affecting entrepreneurial companies. Amalie was named a 2011 Women Extraordinaire by Business Leader Magazine, and was selected as the top business law practitioner in North Carolina in Business North Carolina magazine’s 2012 Legal Elite issue
Amalie graduated from the University of California’s Hastings College of the Law in 1992, and received her LL.M in tax from Boston University’s Graduate Tax Program in 1996. Amalie received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 1989, where she graduated with honors. Amalie is admitted to practice law in North Carolina, Florida and Massachusetts.
